BIOGRAPHY OF SIERRA LEONEAN US BASED ACTOR BRIAN CONTEH
Brian A Conteh is a Sierra Leonean Actor based in Untied States of America. He stated his acting career With the Sierra Theatre Production Company in America. Brian Conteh was born in Sierra Leone at Macdonald Street in Freetown. He attended the Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood Secondary school and later proceeded to the Ahmadiya Muslim Secondary school. Brian has taste for fashion a passion he derived from his skill as a Taylor when he was in Sierra Leone. He also involved in dancing as he took part in many dancing completions in the late 90s in Sierra Leone as a member of the STYLISTICS DANCERS. He went to America with the intention to pursue his educational career when he incidentally bumped into the way of a renowned Broadcaster and Dramatist David Buakei Vandy the host of the Voice of America AFRICA BEAT SHOW. David Vandy saw the talent in him and decided to train him to become an Actor. His first attempt for the camera was for a movie titled DEEP WITHIN and he was spotted by a female Cameroonian film maker Ardy Divin.
Brian’s first stage performance was at the John F Kennedy Centre for performing Arts in Washington DC in a play titled TRUE FRIENDSHIP written and directed by David Vandy. He also did CRY OF THE COUNTRY’S VIRGIN and LIFE AND TIME OF MADAM YOKO.He also did THE LONG AWAITED RETURN at the Smithsonian Museum for African American Arts. Also CHIBOZOR at the Warner Theatre in Washington DC, LOVE CRIMES at the Centre for performing Arts in Virginia. As he persevered in his stage performances, doors began to open for him as he ventured into the Africa Movie Industry, African American and Indie Movie industry. He starred in various Nigerian and Mexican movies like THE UNFORGETTABLE WORDS, DEEP WITHIN, RED ROSE, LOVE GAMES, MEDICINE FOR LOVE, ALL MY FATHER’S CHILDREN, ALL THINGS UNHOLY, NJEDEKA IN AMERICA, ZOLANI this was shot in Nigeria and he played the lead role. He also did TABE FOR 8 and BRING ME THE HEAD OF JADE BROOKS in Mexico by June Daguiso.He also featured in some Sierra Leonean /Nigerian Movies like THE PRINCESS, 2FACE and BLOODSTONE by Adeyemi Lardner and Ghanaian born David Osei, HIGH FASHION by Sierra Leonean Winstina Taylor, DOUBLE WAHALA, and NSYNC by Abie Dominion.
Brian Conteh has bagged couple of Awards across America ranging from BEST ACTOR, SUPPORTING ACTOR, BEST MALE ACTOR at THE INTERNATIONAL FASHION AWARD in Madison Wisconsin USA.He also won two best supporting Awards for the movie GREEDY REALTOR at the HAPPA and LANFA Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles California.
Brian was introduced into Hollywood movies, playing a short role in the American post-apocalyptic Television Horror series WALKING DEAD as a college professor alongside Hollywood Actress Julian Hamoh.
He also starred in Kevin Durant's upbringing story movie SWAGGER 2 which is to be premiered in June 2023. He plays the role of Coach and Scout for VCU College alongside the legendary US Rapper and Actor Ice Cube's son Osaiah Jackson jr, Tristan wilds and Orlando of DRUMLINE Fame.
Brian Conteh also starred in the US Movie LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN and was featured in a documentary that was released early this January 2023 THE STORY OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA a story about Black women in America who paved the way for others in the 1908s.Brian’s recent Hollywood movie that is hitting the movie screens around the world is the season two of MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN where he played the role of Prisoner a member of a US deadly Gang.
