By the age of thirteen Elvis was the main camera operator at his family events. While in college (Prairie View A&M University), he wrote, produced, directed, filmed, edited, and starred in his first short film "Missing" for his Speech class. The short film was about Elvis's first-time experience riding the city bus at night in Houston; he felt asleep and the bus drove him all over the city while his family worried sick at home.

After the screening of "Missing" in his class, Elvis receives an overwhelming applause from his professor and classmates; with encouragement from the class, Elvis was inspired to study film-making from a veteran production supervisor at NYU (New York University) Film School. Upon completion of his film studies, Elvis founded Vis Entertainment Studios; an independent media (Movies, TV, and Music Videos) production studio based in Washington, DC.
