CURTORIA ROBERTSON

                                                  BIOGRAPHY

 Curtoria Robertson was born September 1, 1984. She was raised in Trenton, SC.  She is a professional makeup artist and Image consultant.  She studied cosmetology at Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology. She began her career at Spice of New York salon and spa as a professional Makeup Artist.  She booked her first wedding party through Spice of New York Salon and Spa, as a professional Makeup Artist. Robertson went on to doing professional makeup for Photoshoots, Fashion Shows, Weddings, Family Portraits and more.  She began traveling to do wedding parties. In 2013 Robertson went on and got her LLC. Under her LLC she created her signature perfume, “Compliments by Davida”.

Robertson lost her mother when she was only, 10 years old.  Her mother became a business owner at the age of 32. She owned three daycares.  Robertson knew she wanted to follow her mother’s tracks, but she was not sure if it was dealing with kids. Robertson, enjoyed watching her mom do her makeup before church or before a business meeting, and was very intrigued.  She couldn’t wait until the day she could wear makeup. The rule was she had to wait until she was 16 years old, to wear makeup. Unfortunately her mom wasn’t around to see Robertson reach the age of 16. At the age of 16 is when the passion for makeup and all fashionable things grew inside of her. She eventually knew she wanted to pursue a career in being a Makeup Artist/ Entrepreneur.

In 2012 Robertson was unemployed and found ways to hustle and make ends meet by doing hair and makeup. She had so much time on her hands she was lead to create her own fragrance “Compliments by Davida”. Royalties Beauty was found in 2013. Business started off slow for her. She was happy just to book at least a wedding a month.  Before she became a professional  MUA, she charged $25.00 for weddings to buy products and get her name recognized .

Robertson wasn’t sure where her future was heading because her clientele wasn’t where she had wanted to be. Today she said, she is grateful that she never gave up because now she is beginning to see the fruit of her labor, as a business owner.
