Jean Hubert VALCOURT, known as Dug.G, was born on 10 September 1982 in Port-de-Paix. Radio broadcaster, in July 1999, he will perform a musical program "Rap'Rocher" on the "Planet Kreyòl" to promote Creole rap. This show was one of the most listened to at the time. Rapporteur of the group "Rockfam Lame a", his pseudonym Dug.G comes from the name of his father Duguay, and the G of GRAND in reference to his vision.

Senior sons of Duguay Michel VALCOURT (photographer, radio presenter, electrician and former director of the EDH (Port-de-Paix) office and the National Malaria Eradication Service (SNEM), former president of Scout Mort) and the Haitian Red Cross (Nord-Ouest) and Margarette Eugène VALCOURT (office clerk), they are five (5) children born of this union. At the age of 12, his father being paralyzed, Dugg and his two (2) brothers and two (2) sisters were brought up by their grandmother and their courageous mother, ready to sacrifice herself for the happiness of her children.

Married then divorced, he is the father of two children: Sael (boy) and Carenne (girl) whom he adores enormously.

Career and Influence

Former student of the school of the Brothers of the Christian Instruction Saint Joseph of Port-of-Peace, he will be passionate for the broadcasting and the music, in particular the rap. And, from an early age, the latter will positively influence his personality.

His father, very strict, had not allowed him to make rap. Admitted to secondary school at the Collège Notre-Dame in Lourdes and during the school elections, his rapper talent was discovered when he was only in the 7th Fundamental Year class. After his performance, he was selected by the group "Cosmic Rap Boys" composed of the youngsters of the College. His father was sick, and his mother had forbidden him to make music, but in their absence he repeated at home with other friends in his class. His very first adventure was ephemeral as he was forced to leave the group due to his mother's demands.

With Lova Man and Young MC, he founded his second band "Lova Man And His Crew" which was very popular in Port-de-Paix. Unfortunately, these friends had to leave the country because of their university studies in the US. He made many attempts to recreate it, but it was in vain. And finally, he created "OSMOZ" with Alkali, Fenix and Snoopy. Unfortunately, Dug.G and Snoopy were forced to return to Port-au-Prince to pursue university studies. Wanting to follow in the footsteps of his father, he had tried to integrate broadcasting and started as an operator on the 4VTS radio in Port-de-Paix. Then he co-animated "Etincelle Show" with Gregory Poitevien on the radio Etincelle.

In Port-au-prince, he will have his greatest success in the world of Creole rap. He was the star performer of "Rap'Rocher" on the radio "Planèt Kreyol", and he contributed greatly with other animators, MC and beat makers, to the enhancement of Creole rap at the end of 2004 due to a lack of production . Since then, he has definitely embarked on the musical business. With Knaggz and other friends, they will form RockFam Records and Entertainment to promote Creole rap. That's how he started his adventure with RockFam lame-a.

In 2009, he participated in the film "Talents of the Street" under the pseudo of "Kenny". Produced by Robenson Lauvince, this film tells the story of a group of talented young rappers who have spent most of their time being insulted for their music. Then, one day, they met a patron who opened the way for success.

In July 2011, there was a divorce between Dug.G and Rockfam Lame a. And in the same year, he showed the path of reconciliation by displaying himself with one of the greatest musical opponents Izolan. It was a great step towards the unification of the Black and Red handkerchiefs, symbol of freedom.
